This year, we are committing $1.5M to be shared across more than 30 Canadian elementary schools. Due to its small enrollment numbers and the multi-grade classes, the school ends up feeling like a big family. Our student population is faced with unique challenges living in a remote rural community that make books especially valuable. Glavin School<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Winnipeg, Manitoba<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Our school and community are wonderfully diverse, and represent many different cultures and types of families. We are working towards filling our library full of books that represent everyone! This grant will ensure that students are exposed to a wide variety of engaging books in the French language, something that is very important given that, outside of school, students are living in a world that mostly functions in English. Our students encompass a wide range of diverse backgrounds. Our goal through the Literacy Fund Grant is to provide reading materials that embrace and honour this diversity.
